I’m Still on Treatment From Arua Torture, Says Suspect Who Collapsed in Court

Innocent Nalubowa Caroline, 28, one of the suspects charged in the Arua treason case before Gulu Magistrate Court on Thursday fainted and collapsed after standing nearly for two hours in the dock.

Nalubowa, who was standing in front of the dock with other accused persons could not take the heat inside the Court room as people were packed to capacity.

She was later carried and taken to the other empty court room where she was given first aid and  placed to rest on the room.

In an interview with Journalists outside the Court premises, Nalubowa said that she was beaten and kicked by security people on the chest during the Arua by Election Violence.

She also revealed that she cannot stand for long as she is still experiencing heavy chest pain and she is still on treatment.

Nalubowa who said she hails from Kampala but was dealing in shoe business in Arua by last year also revealed that she is now out of business trying to foot her bills.

The visibly shaken Nalubowa also appealed to government to speed up their trial so that Justice can be served quickly to them.

In the same Court also other accused persons who appeared while not in good shape includes Shaban Atiku who whose chest was beaten seriously and is currently receiving treatment from Mengo Hospital.
