The Director General Health Services at the Ministry of Health Dr Henry Mwebesa has dismissed social media reports that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Various posts have been making rounds on social media claiming that Dr Mwebesa tested positive for COVID-19.
This morning, he announced that he would be admitted at either Mulago hospital or Entebbe hospital if he tested positive for COVID-19.
“Contrary to social media posts making rounds, I did not test positive for COVID-19. However, if I did test positive, I would be admitted at Mulago or Entebbe hospital and receive appropriate medical care. Let’s not make COVID-19 look like a death sentence,” Dr Mwebesa announced.
Various posts made rounds on social media that Dr Mwebesa tested positive for COVID-19 after Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda announced that he had gone into isolation after some of his contacts tested positive for the disease.
Rugunda made the announcement on Friday, when all Ministers were set to be compulsorily tested for COVID-19.
