The Inspector General of Police Okoth Ochola has reverted two police spokespersons, transferred and appointed several officers to various offices in a new shakeup.
Ochola transferred SP Vincent Ssekate who has been the publicist of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department and Lameck Kigozi of Greater Masaka region.
Ssekate and Kigozi were both transferred to Human Resource Management at police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala.
In the shakeup that affected 107 police officers, Mr Ochola appointed ASP Charles Twino Mansio to the office of PRO CID headquarters in Kibuli.
ASP John Paul Kangave, who has been the publicist for Savannah Police Region, was appointed as spokesperson for greater Masaka region.
Mr Ochola, further appointed SCP Farouk Muyimira to the position of Deputy Director Production of welfare and production and SCP Charles Birungi was transferred from welfare and production to directorate of Interpol as Deputy Director.
In other senior positions, the police chief transferred ACP Bob Kagazura from Rwenzori West to Wamala region as regional police commander.
Also SSP Ignatius Otongo was transferred from Sipi Region to Rwenzori West as RPC.
D/SSP Ramathan Doka was deployed in Rwizi as regional CID officer from Kibuli CID headquarters.
SSP Barbara Alungat and SP Bosco Arop were appointed deputy commandant and directing staff respectively at Police Senior School and Staff College in Bwebajja
In Kampala Metropolitan, the shakeup also saw SP David Agaba transferred from Kiira division to Kajjansi as DPC.
ASP Shifa Kibiriwa was transferred from Nsangi to Kiira Division as DPC and ASP Susan Ikuk from Kabalagala to Nsangi.
However, the police boss left the office of PRO Savanah region vacant.
