The Inspector General of Police Okoth Martin Ochola has immediately removed the District Police Commander of Arua following the Monday attacks in which President Museveni’s convoy was attacked by opposition supporters.
Ochola has transferred Superintendent of Police Abas Senyonjo from Arua to Masaka as DPC.
Sources in police say, the IGP was furious at the commander and blamed him for failing to contain the rowdy crowds of opposition candidate Kasiano Wadri that blocked and stoned at the presidential convoy.
In the fracas, the principal car in which the president travels was targeted leaving its hind window shattered.
The police boss through the Director of Human Resources AIGP Moses Balimwoyo appointed Superintendent of Police Kintu Henry as the new Arua DPC.
SP Henry Kintu was transferred from Masaka district where he has been a Police Commander.
In other changes, ASP Andrew Okalabya was transferred from Buikwe in Lugazi to Mpigi district as officer in charge of traffic police.
