“The operation is still ongoing. IGP and his team also traveled and have joined the search efforts on ground. we will keep you informed with necessary updates,” Namaye said.
Last evening, security agencies dispatched a team of anti-terrorism sharp shooters and elite special forces commandos to persue the suspected gunmen who kidnapped a female American citizen Kimberly Sue Endecott and a Ugandan Tour Guide identified as Jean Paul as they were on an evening game drive in the National Park.
US officials who spoke to chimp reports on Thursday morning also said that they are working closely with specialized military forces dispatched by President Museveni to hunt down the kidnappers.
However citizens moving in the areas near the Queen Elizabeth National Park along the Uganda and DRC boarders have been urged to move cautiously due to the security activities taking place there.
