IGP Ochola Gives Bobi Wine Kisasi, Ntinda Stretcher Route to Nomination Grounds

The Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola has given presidential hopeful, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine Kisasi, Ntinda Stretcher route to nomination grounds in Kyambogo University on Tuesday.

Bobi Wine will not be allowed to pass through the National Unity Platform offices in Kamwokya according to the IGP in a letter dated October 31, 2020.

Ochola stated that police have made traffic arrangements to be followed during the two days presidential nomination from November 2nd to 3rd.

“The Uganda Police Force has made a traffic plan for the nomination exercise to be held on 2nd and 3rd November 2020. This is meant to enable your timely travel to and from the nomination venue,” said part of the letter.

IGP noted that Bobi and his team are going to be escorted by the police traffic lead vehicles to the nomination venue while following the Electoral Commission guidelines.

“You will be escorted by the Uganda Police Force with a lead traffic vehicle/motorcycle to the nomination venue with your team as per the Electoral Commission guidelines,” said Ochola.

After leaving his home in Magere, tomorrow, Bobi will not use the Gayaza-Kalerwe route but take Kumbuzi to Kisasi and continue with his team to Kyambogo.

“Your route to and from the venue will be; Magere, Kumbuzi, Kisasi, Ntinda Stretcher Road, Spear Motors, Kyambogo University junction and then to the nomination grounds,” said Ochola.

Bobi Wine has said he is going to follow the police designated routes and later go to his office in Kamwokya to launch his manifesto.

“Police has written to me about this route as I go for nominations tomorrow. We have no problem and we shall follow this route to the nominations venue. After that, we shall head straight to our office in Kamwokya where we shall launch our manifesto,” said Bobi Wine.

Bobi will be nominated tomorrow alongside the Forum for Democratic Change party’s Patrick Amuriat, Norbert Mao of Democratic Party and Independent Candidate, Fred Mwesigye.
