Mbabazi was last Saturday meeting some his constituent leaders including constituency executive members, drug Sub county NRM chairpersons and selected elders from various sub counties from Kinkiizi West, which he represents in Parliament.
The meeting was held at his country home in Karubeizi, Kihihi, Kanungu district on Valentine’s Day.
Our sources who attended the meeting said Mbabazi expressed heartfelt gratitude to some of the leaders who had stuck with him through thick and thin.
“He however did not announce whether or not he intended to take part in the 2016 general elections. He only brushed on the matter in brief, promising to address it at the right time” a source confided in us.
Mbabazi, who skipped the NRM week-long caucus retreat in Kyankwanzi, is said to have held other similar meetings with his devotees at his residence in Kololo, before heading to his home district.
In the Kanungu meeting Mbabazi is reported to have discussed at length with his close confidants on how they could mobilise sufficient grassroots support.
