Unlike several artists who are bitter with the recently proposed regulations governing them, Comedian cum MP Kato Lubwama is okay with the rules.
Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development on Tuesday this week introduced strict laws to govern Musicians, Events organizers and other entertainers.
The Rubaga South legislator has expressed his excitement over the proposed rules which he says are not new and only being amended and enforced.
According to the comedian and singer, some of the regulations like compulsory acquisition of licenses to operate, are necessary because every profession in Uganda requires a license to commence its work.
Kato Lubwama also added that the regulations are necessary in that they help send away masqueraders from the arts industry especially fake promoters and fight drug related problems.
Earlier this week, the legislator revealed that part of his new year’s resolutions include reviving the theater industry and fighting fake promoters whom he accuses of exploitation.
