Hundreds of people turned up for the first ever Vegan Festival not only in Uganda, but the entire East African that took place over the weekend.
According to Innocent Nabaasa one of the organizers, the idea came from the great concern for a healthy eating habit which many have for long taken for granted.
“The reason why l started this festival is to encourage people to start eating healthy and embrace being vegetarians.”
The festival, which attracted people from all walks of life had different stalls serving all kinds of veggies like burger vegie, vegie Pizzas and juice among others.
Revealers were also treated to awesome entertainment from singers Allan Tonix, Grenade and the up coming song stress Brenda Rise di.
Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude all forms of exploitation of animals for food, clothing and aims to promote a healthier life style.
According dietitians, a vegan diet can help prolong life and reduce the risk of various diseases.
