Hundreds Mourn Buganda Culture Minister’s Wife

Hundreds of mourners on Tuesday, 10 November 2020 descended on St. Matthias Kikajjo to pay their respects to Rosalind Kyewalabye, the wife of Owek. David Kyewalabye Male, the Kingdom Minister for Tourism and Culture.

Rosalind, 48, succumbed to cardiac arrest following a stomach operation at Kampala Hospital on Sunday.

Lands minister Betty Kamya, in her eulogy, said she has lost a friend and sister in Rosalind.

“She was a woman of great character and loveable. May her legacy live on for generations. Rosalind was beautiful in her outlook, but also at heart. I was bonded to her, the first moment I saw her. I also salute her husband for having loved his wife till the end,” Kamya said.

Male Kyewalabye said:  “My wife has served our family, the church and the nation well. May her soul rest in peace.”

The mother of four left behind four children. At the time of death, she was the Finance Director at Gombe SS.
