Hearing Of Kabaziguruka Case Flops

Hearing of the case where Nakawa Division MP Michael Kabaziguruka and 22 others are charged with treachery before Makindye General Court Martial did not take place today as scheduled, website due to the absence of the Court Chairman Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti.

In the last court sitting on 28th June 2016, the 22 accused persons pleaded not guilty of these charges apart from Kabaziruguka who was not contented with court martial’s authority to try Civilians like him.

Court was adjourned to today for mentioning of the case, but this wasn’t possible.

According to Court Martial Registrar Maj. John Bizimana, the court chairman is away on official duties. All cases scheduled for today were adjourned to next week.

Last evening Kabaziguruka through his lawyers of Rwakafuuzi and company advocates filed a notice of motion to High court challenged his trial before the General court martial and sought an order staying this trial until the matter before high court is fully dismissed.
