Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) President Jimmy Akena has described the fallen Kampala District Chairperson, the late Bruhan Ssekibinge, as a hardworking man who devoted his life to serving the party and the country at large.
Ssekibinge died from Kiruddu Hospital on December 19, where he had been admitted following some health complications.
In a statement released on December 20, Akena said that Ssekibinge was a UPC loyal cadre whose service not only impacted the party, but the country as a whole.
“He devoted his entire youth, adulthood and elderly age towards his family, faith and his political party-UPC,” Akena said.
“His leadership and mobilization skills have been key in the rebuilding process of the party in Kampala and the entire nation. He has been a great leader and an active link of the party headquarters and grassroots levels as well as a source of special knowledge for UPC,” Akena added.
He noted that the whole country, especially Buganda Region, will always miss Ssekibinge’s devoted service.
“On behalf of UPC members, I show our grief and share with you the loss of comrade Bruhan. We shall always remember his enormous contributions to the development of our party and the nation as part of our legacy,” he noted.
