Buganda Kingdom has joined the rest of the country to mourn the loss of Sheikh Anas Kaliisa, founding Chairperson of the Salaam Charity Group.
In Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga’s message read by Hajji Twaha Kawaase, first Deputy Katikkiro at Kibuli Mosque, the late was described as a supportive person who will be dearly missed by everybody.
“As a Kingdom we had a lot of expectations in the deceased. On behalf of Buganda Government, myself and my family, we mourn with the family and Prince Kassim Nakibinge, who has been a close friend to the late,” the Katikkiro said.
He pointed out that Sheikh Kaliisa has been following up, at the same time playing advisory role on all developmental activities in the Kingdom.
“He has been supportive and worked hard in ensuring that the people of Buganda move on the same pace with the rest of the country.”
Sheikh Anas Kaliisa passed away on Wednesday this week at his home, he will be laid to rest in Ntungamo today November 6, 2020.
