Hassan Wasswa Joins Egyptian Club

Uganda Cranes defender-cum midfielder Hassan Wasswa Mawanda has completed a move to join Egyptian premier league side, Tala’a El-Geish.

The deal was made official on Wednesday after the player agreed a two year contract deal.

Journeyman Wasswa joins the Egyptian side from Lebanon’s Al Najmeh where he played last season.

The combative player is one of the key players in the Uganda Cranes set up and his performance against Egypt in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers could have triggered the interest.

Wasswa is one of the several new signings that the military side have made in a bid to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

The others include Moaz El-Hennawy, Mohamed Nassef, Salah Amin and Togolese international Camaldine Abraw who recently signed a two-year contract.

Tala’a El-Geish finished last season in 7th place and start the season against defending champions Al Ahly this weekend.
