Gulu: Singer Bosmic Otim Arrested

Police in Gulu on Monday arrested Gulu artiste, Bosmic Joyce Otim for holding an illegal meeting.

Bosmic was picked from Cereleno Market where he had gathered vendors to address them.

The youthful artiste is a known People Power activist in Northern Uganda and was recently appointed the Deputy Chair, Northern Uganda for the youth wing of the Pressure group.

Police says the singer had sought permission to hold the People Power meeting at Kaunda grounds, but later on decided to take it to Cereleno market where he was arrested

Police Public Relations Officer for Aswa region Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the arrest of Bosmic today saying that his file will be sent to the resident state attorney for sanctioning.

This is not the first time Bosmic is having an altercation with the Police.

In June this year, he was badly injured on the head while being pursued by police officers from Gulu main market.

He and other People Power activists were holding a rally at the main market before they were dispersed by Police.

The Singer was also recently ‘forced’ to apologize to Acholi leaders whom he had abused in his Songs.
