Gov’t to Build House for Oldest Man in Uganda

Government is set to build a house and take care of all basic needs of John Ahumura, information pills the oldest known man in Uganda.

The development was revealed on Sunday by President Yoweri Museveni, after a meeting with Ahumura, who he said he learnt about from the newspapers.

“Following his request, the government will build Ahumura a house and also take care of his basic needs,” said Museveni.

Ahumura, 131, according to his birth certificate, was born in 1885.

He visited the president at State House in Entebbe upon invitation and was in company of Fr. Fabius Bainakanaama, of St. Padre Pio Nyahuka Catholic Parish, Bundibugyo District.

The development also comes a day after the commemoration of the International Day of Older Persons which was held on Saturday, October 1st at Bishop Flynn Senior Secondary School in Padel District.
