Gov’t Agencies Review Performance at Munyonyo Retreat

Ministers, erectile permanent secretaries, erectile heads of agencies and local government leaders are starting a five-day retreat at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo today Monday  to review performance of their various dockets for the past financial year.

President Yoweri Museveni, Vice President Edward Ssekandi and Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda will also attend.

The Government Annual Performance Review is aimed at examining how various targets of performance have been met, what has not been achieved and why, and explore ways of removing bottlenecks to service delivery.

The theme for the retreat is: “Realizing results in Public Finance Investments: Opportunities and Challenges-Kisanja Hakuna Muchezo.”

It is convened by the Office of the Prime Minister.

Officials told ChimpReports on Monday that special attention will be put on examining of the performance of externally funded projects to determine whether there has been value for money.

The retreat will also enable assessment of progress in the whole of Government against key performance measures for every sector especially outcomes in the actual changes in the quality, access and utilization of public interventions; in governance, security and investments including externally funded projects.

During the retreat, there will be the identification of areas where emphasis needs to be put to achieve the objectives of the Second National Development Plan.
