Government Replaces Murdered Prosecutor Joan Kagezi

Uganda netball team captain, abortion Peace Proscovia, has extended her contract with UK’s professional netball club, Loughborough University by two years.

The She Cranes queen has also been granted a two-year part-time Masters course in Marketing and Management with the school of Business and Economics at the University.

Proscovia had graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business administration from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

Peace, who is currently in the country preparing for the Netball World Cup, dedicated her achievements [which include the Coaches’-Player award for the 2015 season] to her head coach Karen Atkinson.

“I must dedicate everything I have achieved this season to my coach Karen, who has been there for me right from the time I came here, and my performance has probably increased just because of her.” Peace told the club after the signing ceremony.

She further expressed her pleasure for the new offer, “I’m so happy that I’m coming back for two more years and I believe my game will grow bigger and bigger.”

The coach wasn’t short of kind words for the Ugandan international, “We are delighted that Peace not only decided to play for Lightning for the next two years, but also further her studies here. Both on and off the court Peace has been an outstanding addition to the team, her work and ethic and high shooting volume and percentages have contributed to Lightning’s improvement.”

Coach Karen also expressed her satisfaction and hoped the move will strengthen partnerships between the team and Uganda that could see more Ugandans being welcomed at the team.

“This is also great news for our growing partnerships with Netball Uganda and we would love to welcome role models such as Peace to Loughborough in the future.”

Following the murder of government Prosecutor Joan Kagezi and thus hampering the case which she was handling of 13 individuals who are accused of participating in July 2010 Kampala bomb attacks, no rx government is set to shake off the dust and proceed with the case.

According to information from a closed door meeting held today at High court in Kampala chaired by Justice Alifonsi Winyi Dolo, the Directorate of Public Prosecution has deployed a team of five prosecutors to revive this case which is slated to resume at 8th June.

The new five appointed members are being led by Senior State Attorney Okalanyi Suzan while others are Thomas Jatiko, John Bosco Asiimwe, Reachel Bikhole and Linno Anguzu.

According to reliable sources in the closed door meetings these five are going to be provided with body guards who have been equipped with modern defense skills.

On top of that, all defense counsels in this case are also going to be provided with armed security personnel.

Hearing of this case had stopped for a while following the murdering of the state prosecutor Joan Kagezi at Kiwatule as she was heading to her home.

However, state says it has now finalized preparations to resume with this case
