The Miss Uganda fraternity has come out to dismiss rumors going around that the Government never offered them any support during the Miss World contest that was concluded few days ago in Sanya City Arena, China.
Brenda Nanyonjo, CEO miss Uganda refuted the hate speech against Government during the press conference yesterday at Sheraton Hotel.
“It is not true that the Government did not support us on this journey. The help took sometime to reach us as we all know that Government things take time but we got it,” Nanyonjo assured.
She added, ” The Ministers concerned were always in constant contact with me and Quinn. We were also greatly helped by Uganda’s ambassador to China Solomon Lutega so let no one lie to you.”
Numerous rumors have been making rounds on social media claiming that Miss Uganda suffered throughout the journey right from purchasing a ticket to go to China, to dressing material and supposedly getting stuck in China.
Nanyonjo also requested media to endeavor to report correct information by consulting the correct sources or seeking the right social media pages.
On Wednesday, Miss Uganda Quinn Abenakyo together with the Miss Uganda fraternity met His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the presence of other ministers where he offered to render support to the Miss Uganda
