Government Institutes Team to Monitor Quality of Donated Food

The Government through the Ministry of Agriculture has put in place a committee which will work with UNBS to ensure that food donated to the COVID19 Task force is of a desired standard for human consumption

This followed an outcry from the public especially from those who have received relief food from government, that the food donated to them is of poor quality

Addressing the media at the office of the Prime Minster on Thursday, Hon Bamulangaki Sempijja the Minister of Agriculture revealed that they have noticed that many of the people donating to government didn’t mind about quality

“I have instituted a team of senior researchers who are going to examine the quality of all food donated to the task force before being distributed to people,” the minister said.

Many people from Kawempe and Nakawa Divisions have been complaining about the donated beans which were found to have with stones, while others said they took look to be ready.

On Wednesday the Minster for Kampala Hon Betty Amongi revealed that Government had terminated the contract with Aponye Ug Ltd to supply food for allegedly supplying substandard food.
