Ugandan roving left back Shafik Batambuze is among the players that have been released by Kenyan Premier League giants, Gor Mahia Football Club.
The development comes after Batambuze’s contract expired with the K’Ongalos who were not willing to extend his stay at the club.
Batambuze, commonly known as”Bachu” has been on the sidelines nursing and injury sustained last year in November during their CAF Champions League tie against Aigle Noir from Burundi.

He joined the KPL defending champions in 2018 as a free agent from Tanzanian outfit, Singida United.
The club also officially confirmed Juma Balinya’s exit but the center forward has since signed for Uganda Premier League side Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC).
The Ugandan duo join Lawrence Juma and Joash Onyango as other departures who have already joined Sofapaka and Simba Sports Club in Kenya and Tanzania respectively.
Other departures at the club include Wellington Ochieng, Elvis Ronack, Kennedy Otieno, Boniface Omondi and David Mapigano, Dickson Ambundo, Clinton Okoth, Fredrick Odhiambo, Alphonse Omija, Edwin Lavatsa, and Jackson Owusu
