Budding goalkeeper Emmanuel Derrick Were has joined Masaza Cup record champions Gomba Ssaza, becoming the sixth signing for the team.
The development was announced via Gomba’s official twitter handle on Wednesday.
Were is a Three-time Masaza Cup winning goalie having previously triumphed with Singo in 2015 and 2018, and Buddu in 2016.
Last year, he inspired Uganda Christian University to their University Football League championship edging past St Lawrence University 2-1 in the finals held at Lugogo.
He also played for Maroons Academy, Kyebando Hearts, Big FUFA League side Kiboga Young, and is currently at Kiyinda Boys.
Were joins the Four-time winners as the sixth high profile recruit of the year after Ben Nambokho, Titus Ssematimba, Isaac Ogwang, Richard Basangwa and Abdallah Ssentongo.
Gomba will aim at clinching the fifth title to add on their previous achievements in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2017.
