Ugandan duo of goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato and center forward Brian Kayanja have agreed to terminate their respective contracts with Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka Sports Club.
It’s reported that the duo have decided to exit the club on mutual consent citing unpaid salary arrears.
Both Sebwato and Kayanja joined Sofapaka in January this year from Uganda Premier League side Bright Stars Football Club.
Before joining Sofapaka, Sebwato played for KCCA, Sports Club Villa, Onduparaka, Bright Stars (two stints), Coastal Union (Tanzania) and Onduparaka.
Kayanja joined Bright Stars at the start of the 2018/2019 season and played a pivotal role in guiding the club to the 2019 Stanbic Uganda Cup finals before losing to Proline.
The duo helped Sofapaka to finish in the 10th position with 31 points from 23 games before the Kenyan Premier League was ended abruptly due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
