Towering shot stopper Hassan Matovu has returned to his parent club KCCA FC following the end of his two-year loan spell with former side Proline FC.
Matovu has been executing his goalkeeping abilities at Proline since 2018/2019 season, having an amazing time claiming the starting slot ahead of Bashir Sekajja.
He landed at the Mujib Kasule owned club while featuring in the Big league as the fourth choice at the time behind Saidi Keni (now at SC Villa), Nasser Lwamunda and Michael Muhumuza.
The lanky goalie had a colourful debut season with Proline having guided the team to the Stanbic Uganda Cup Championship and FUFA Big League triumph, helping the team gain top flight promotion.
Last season, he was the team’s first choice having edged competition from Nasser Lwamunda despite his club’s failure to beat the relegation.
On return to the 13-time Uganda Premier League winners, he is expected to replace want away goalkeeper Jamilu Malyamungu who seeking a move away from Lugogo.
Ahead of the 2020/2021 season, Matovu will compete for the number one slot that has experienced captain Charles Lukwago.
He is the sixth addition to KCCA’s squad after Ashiraf Mugume, Charles Lwanga, Dennis Iguma, Bright Anukani and Stefan Loro Mazengo.
