Gift of Kaddo Accuses TV Presenters, DJs of Killing Ugandan Music

Faded singer Gift of Kaddo real name Gift Kyambadde has no kind words for Ugandan TV presenters and DJs.

The ‘Traffic Man Officer’ hit maker has accused them of failing artists like him, Jose Chameleone, Radio and Weasel, Maddox Ssematimba, among others, by not playing their music in favor of new artists, something he says is killing Ugandan music.

Gift has posted a lengthy rant on Facebook in which he points out that the musicians the TV presenters and DJs are fronting and comparing them with, are the very people who were inspired by the legends to join the industry.

According to Gift, it’s not fair that artistes like him don’t get airplay yet they keep releasing new music demanded by their fans.

“Stop pulling us down, we fought and struggled for this music industry. And the people you compare our music with were inspired by us to be what they are now. Maddox, Jose Chameleone, Radio & Weasel, Kabuye Ssebonga plus more legends; I respect them, me inclusive, we have done much in this game so why don’t they play our music yet we keep releasing songs?” Gift rants.

He concludes the rant by lashing out at people who do not appreciate their talents and are waiting for them to die so they can show them fake love on social media.

“TV presenters and Djs let’s respect our talent not to kill our own, balinda ofee then they share you on their FB walls pretending how they loved you U anyway those that love me keep it locked more hits for you.  It’s a shame that fans ask for our music but you refuse to play it because of your own issues that I won’t say and you know them just wait”.

Gift of Kaddo was previously under the Goodlyfe crew but he later broke away from the group to form his own with the late Mr. X called Kaddo Farm where they went on to release songs like ‘Co-Driver’, ‘Sorry’, ‘Cherie’, among others.

But unfortunately Mr. X passed away in 2012 and since then, Gift has been struggling to make a comeback.
