Giants Kick Off Round Two of Big League

A group of NRM youth activists led by a one Isa Kato have Thursday morning arrived at former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s plush residence in the leafy suburbs of Kampala.

The group first gathered outside Housing Finance Bank premises in Kololo before walking to the ousted NRM Secretary General’s home.

Kato exclusively told ChimpReports the youth would hand over a “certificate of endorsement” to Mbabazi, cost urging him to firmly stand against President Museveni in the 2016 elections.

Mbabazi has for several months refused to speak out on his presidential ambitions; saying now is not the right time.

He, symptoms however, maintains that contesting for president is not a crime under the law books of Uganda.

At Mbabazi’s residence, Chimp Corp Kenneth Kazibwe says the youth expect a briefing from Mbabazi and his wife Jacqueline Mbabazi.

Mbabazi was removed from the powerful positions of Premier and Secretary General following concerns by Museveni’s strategists that he was tactfully cultivating ground to contest for the highest political seat in the land.

The second round of the Fufa Big League (FBL) gets underway across the country with giants Jinja Muncipal Council, case The Saints and Baza Holdings among the ten games on Thursday.


The Saints will resume the promotional campaign against Kumi United at Booma Grounds in Kumi.  The Namboole side recently humiliated non league Steel FC 11-0, health striker Allan Kyambade setting a 6-goal record and they have already showed intent to win automatic promotion to the Uganda Premier League next season. They are already leading the Rwenzori group on 29 points two ahead of second placed Water FC.

Another promotion hopeful Baza will entertain Water at Kawanda while CRO travel to Soroti in a bottom table clash. Third placed JMC will host 5th placed Ndejje University in Jinja.

Paidah Black Angels’ goal poacher Villa Oromchan will miss his side’s clash against Sporting United at Lango sports ground having travelled with the national U-23 team to Mozambique.
