Police have arrested detained presidential contender Gen Henry Tumukunde in Njeru town in Buikwe district.
Tmukunde by publication of this story was still being held and Njeru Police station.
He was intercepted by Police and told on Wednesday afternoon that he couldn’t proceed with his planned consultative meeting in the area.
However, according to the former Minister, the meeting was to be attended by only 10 people and didn’t pose any threat in regards to spreading the Covid19 virus.
“Is this a country for all of us or is it for a few people,” said General Tumukunde during the standoff.
He was then ordered to board a waiting Police pickup truck and driven to the Police station.
His campaign on social media said it was not clear why the general was being detained.
