Muslims at the Gadhafi Mosque at Old Kampala on Friday prayed to Allah to save Movit Products boss, Simpson Birungi from the legal challenges that he is faced with.
Birungi is said to have been arrested by ISO operatives who later handed him over to police and was consequently detained at Kireka Special Investigations Directorate (SID) over the alleged murder of his former Manager Stephen Asaba in 2010.
Second Deputy Imam of Gaddafi Mosque, Ali Juma prayed for the Movit proprietor, while receiving number items from the cosmetics company to help the needy in celebrating Eid al Fitr.
Juma thanked the management of Movit and prayed to Allah to bless the management for having a loving heart and pledged continue supporting them by encouraging more consumption of their products.
“What we have heard and what we are seeing, we pray for our brother Birungi for Allah to help him go through the moments he is in. We pray that at the end of the day, he comes out of the predicaments safely, we should all be patient because it is through patience that Allah will grant our prayers,” Juma prayed.
Movit Assistant Marketing manager, Musa Mutebi said the company considered giving back to the Muslims who have been fasting during the holy month as part of their Cooperate Social Responsibility policy.
“We are here to add on what the mosque has to enable Muslims have better Eid celebrations; we are not the best and it’s not that we have much but we share the little we have with them as an expression of love,” Mutebi said.
The items donated included; Sugar, Rice, Cooking oil, Soap, Wheat, Basins and a number of Movit items.
