Kampala Queens registered their first win this season with a narrow win against She Makerere University Football team in the FUFA Women Elite League game played on Saturday.

Crested Cranes forward Resty Nanziri scored the lone goal of the game in the first half to help the team collect maximum points.

Faridah Bulega, the coach of Kampala Queens was however left disappointed after her charges failed to convert the numerous chances created on the day.

Following two draws against UCU Lady Cardinals and Olila High School in the opening games, Kampala Queens came targeting victory.

Nanziri scored the all important goal in the 25th minute. From then on wards, they kept fluffing chance after chance.

Substitute Meble Kusasira thought she had doubled the lead for the visitors midway through the second stanza but her goal was cancelled for offside.


Towards the end, Nanziri set up Mutuuzo wgp was faced with just an empty net but waited for defenders and in the end she failed to find the back of the net.

Victory means Kampala Queens move to third place on five points in Elizabeth group.

The other game played in this group ended in a one all draw with Lango Queens holding UCU Lady Cardinals.

Hajarah Nakate had given the Lira based side an early lead but Hasifa Nassuna levelled matters in the 25th minute.

The result means UCU Lady Cardinals have eight points from four games and are currently top of the table.
