FWEL Bronze Match Postponed To Mourn Player’s Death

Fufa has decided to cancel the Fufa Women Elite League’s third-place
play-off between Kawempe Muslim FC and Kampala Queens.

The decision by the competition’s director Aisha Nalule came after the death announcement of Rehema Adubango, a Kawempe Muslim defender, who
was electrocuted.

“The Competitions department with deep sorrow learnt of the untimely death of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC player Adubango Rehema who passed away on Friday May 31.

No words can describe her contribution to the game of women football as we have lost a young energetic player who served the beautiful game unconditionally at Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC,” Nalule mourned before delivering Fufa’s condolences.

“We wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on
the loss of an icon and we thank the Almighty God for her Life and
Pray that her soul rests in Eternal Peace.”

The director further announced that the third-place playoff game, in which the deceased was expected to feature in, had been postponed to a latter date.

However, the championship final between Lady Doves from Masindi and UCU Lady Cardinals will go on Sunday as planned.
