After ending the first round on a high with a comprehensive victory against She Makerere last week, Ajax queens start the second round of the Fufa Women elite league with a daunting trip to Soroti.

Ajax queens defeated She Makerere 7-0 to ascend to the summit of Victoria group and would want to replicate the same performance with a victory against Olila High School in Soroti on Tuesday.

They face a side that has gradually improved since the start of the league in October last year and currently occupy third spot in the Victoria group on 13 points, six  shy of the top of the table and a positive result for the Soroti based side will draw them level on points with Ajax Queens who are second on the table.

Sharp shooter Fazilah Ikwaput who has scored five goals so far is confident her team can upset Ajax queens and take maximum points in today’s clash.

“We are mentally and physically to face them (Ajax Queens), everyone is ready for the challenge and our focus is to make sure we revenge for the first leg loss,” she told ChimpSport.

Despite scoring in the first leg game in Bulenga, Ikwaput’s Olila went ahead to lose 3-1 to Ajax queens and the return leg in Soroti presents a chance for vengeance.

Carol Nakyanzi alias “Museezi” will be the prime source for goal for the visitors in the absence of skipper Rukia Namubiru who is ruled out for the rest of the season. The fast forward netted a hattrick as Ajax defeated She Makerere.

Versatile Maureen Afoyo has also been key in the team’s performance this season scoring five goals and her combination with creative midfielder Harriet Nakuba will be vital against Olila High School.

Ajax Queens are second in Victoria group with 16 points, three behind leaders Uganda Martyrs who defeated She Corporate 3-2 on Sunday. Olila on the other hand follow closely in third position with 13 points.
