Futsal League: Yap Stars, Elephants Register First Victories

Elephants produced the biggest shock of match day eight with a stunning 5-4 victory aganst Parakeets at Futsal International courts in Mengo.

Jungyera Silver scored an hat-trick, Moses Lubega and Francis Owonda scored one each as Parakeets edged the nine goal thriller.

Ivan Othieno (3) and Arafat Ssentongo were on target for Parakeets but the side couldn’t mount a formidable challenge.

The victory is the first for Elephants who had picked just one draw in their previous six games.

Elephants move to 12th on the 14 team log with four points as Parakeets drop to fifth place with 11 points from six games. Parakeets who lost their first game, have drawn four and drawn once.

Yap Stars in the same line, also picked their first win of the campaign on their seventh attempt. The side edged Mengo City 2-1.

Ronald Kimbugwe and Nduga Hamdullah scored for Yap Stars in the victory, but the side remain at the rock bottom with three points.

This was their fifth loss for Mengo City who had held Nomad to a 3-3 draw on match day seven – The side are now 11th on the table with seven points.

Crown edged Nomad 3-2 to retain their summit. Ssonko Ronald scored an hat-trick as Aidenal proved too good for Kabowa United in a 4-0 victory.
