The exciting and trending Futsal Super league returns this Thursday at its home in International Futsal courts in Mengo.
Typhoons – Equator crunch thriller headlines match day four that has seven games on the card.
The news from Equator FC recently hinted to this website that Coach Abubaker Tabula is set for his playing debut.
“He is to become a coach player,” said Club Chief Executive Alex Nyakaana in an exclusive interview with Chimpsports.
However, CEO Nyakaana didn’t guarantee that Tabula will be playing against Typhoons – and of course that will remain to him, as a coach.
It should be remembered that Tabula was the captain when Cranes beat Rwanda to lift the 2003 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Sudan.
Tabulated also assumed captaincy again for the same tourney in Rwanda.
The left back, who was loved for his attacking prowess, played for GIF Sundsvall in Sweden.
Locally, he played for giants SC Villa and Kampala City Council FC (now KCCA FC). He also had stints with Proline FC before his ‘controversial move’ to Rwandan club APR FC.
As a coach, he has been at Equator in their three games so far. The side are sixth with four points.
Equator come into the tie on the back of a 7-3 win over Elephants, their first league victory. The golden Falcons shared spoils with Kabowa United in a ten goal thriller before falling to a tricky Bajim FC.
Tabula, ahead of the tie, commented: “The league has been fine for the team in particular, we are trying our best to see the team go forward.”
He added: “We are trying our level best to see that we can perform well, the boys are in good shape, and we hope to achieve our set targets.”
Equator will rely on Hussein Konte Mohamed as their source of goals. The clinical finisher is the leading league top scorer with seven nets, four coming against Elephants in their last outing.
