Bajim vs Nomad

The 2018 Futsal Super League returns with six games lined up for matchday five.

The exciting urban sport that keeps gaining momentum, will go underway at its home – International Futsal courts in Mengo.

Bajim tie with Nomad headlines matchday five and the game is expected to live to the billing.

Following a perfect start that saw Bajim FC win its opening two fixtures against Equator and Dream, the side had its impressive start put on a halt with a 2-0 loss to Park FC

We lacked discipline and the boys kept losing possession easily,” said Bajim’s captain and goalkeeper Abbas Byaruhanga in an exclusive interview with ChimpSports.

He explained:

We collected a silly red card -one of our play makers Ronald Ssekiganda was sent off because of offensive language to the match officials.”

Against Nomad, Bajim will find strong resistance as the side are yet to lose a game. Nomad and Parakeets FC are the only teams which are still unbeaten so far.

Nomad beat Typhoons 4-3 in their opener, drew 2-2 with Aidenal before returning to winning ways with a 6-0 thumping of Yap Stars.

Ahead of Thursday crunch tie with Nomad, Byaruhanga revealed: “We have been working on the pressing game, concentration and resilience and as well make sure we travel with an adequate team for the game . Last game we didn’t have a stand in keeper and I had to play till the last whistle though I was really in pain.”

Beside Byaruhanga, Bajim will draw inspiration from Irahim Kamya and Ssekiganda Ronald for a positive result.

The Desert ship as Nomad prefer to call themselves, are fourth on the 14 team log with seven points.

Nomad can storm the summit with victory if Crown and Park fail to pick maximum points in their respective games. It should be noted that leaders Parakeets are not in action until match day six.

Abdukadir Ibrahim Ali will be Nomad’s source of goals. The forward scored an hat-trick in their recent outing to take his tally to six goals, two below leading goalscorer Junior Kante (Equator).

In the other interesting games, Equator who edged Typhoons 5-4 last Thursday, will lock horns with Crown in what is expected to be a high scoring thriller.

Mengo City will open the long night with Typhoons, struggling Elephants take on Aidenal among other games.
