Yap Stars vs Crown

Dream FC will be seeking to defend their crown as the Futsal Super League kicks off on Thurday evening at the International courts in Mengo.

In what promises to be a long night as six games are on the card, Dream FC will open proceedings with Yeak Kabowa.

Last season, Dream FC edged runners-up KSPG to win the first edition of the Futsal Super League.

However, the side are going to put their title credentials on the line against a stubborn Yeak Kabowa team who finished third last season.

It still remains a mystery if the defending champions still have what it takes to replicate last season’s heroics.

Two of last season’s best players, Mike Mutyaba and Jamil Kariisa have joined main stream football. A player playing in top flight (Uganda Premier League) cannot be allowed to play Futsal.

Kariisa, who was voted as the MVP, joined StarTimes Premier League team Bright Stars.

Last season’s Topscorer with 50 goals Mutyaba, joined KCCA FC, however,  he comes back as the club’s new coach, replacing Mohamed Ssenfuma.

In their recruits, the side has added Ssegawa John (Nkima clan in Bika Football team) who joins from Rwanda. Adriko and Ali Kisekka are the other new signings.

Kisekka who comes from Kira United, was the club’s CEO last season. He is set to serve the club from the pitch this time round.

In the other games, Parakeets FC will play host to Park FC in what promises to be a cracker.

Yap Stars who finished fourth last season, will face Crown, among other games.
