UCU Lady Cardinals 1-1 Kampala Queens
She Corporate 0-0 Dynamic Jjeza
Muteesa I Royal University 2-0 Ajax Queens
Olila High School 2-0 She Makerere
Kampala Queens Football Club rallied from a goal down to earn a point in their first game this season against UCU Lady Cardinals.
The team coached by Faridah Bulega need a late surge and to at least salvage a point against UCU in the game played in Mukono on Saturday.
UCU Lady Cardinals came into the game on the back of a 1-0 win against Isra Academy and were the better side in the opening stages of the game but failed to find the cutting edge.
The breakthrough finally came midway through the second half with winger Jackie Nakasi scoring.
A defence splitting pass from Catherine Nakiridde released Nakasi whose low drive went past goalkeeper Cissy Nakiguba.
The hosts were unlucky not to double their lead with Maureen Kinavudori and Hasifa Nassuna all denied by the woodwork.
New signing Resty Nanziri levelled matters for Kampala Queens capitalising on a defence lapse by Annet Nakirijja who failed to clear the ball away on the first attempt.
Nanziri was swift to reach the ball and hit it to the roof of the net with the outside of her right foot.
The point takes UCU Lady Cardinals to the top of the table in Elizabeth group on four points in two games. In the same group, last season’s runners up Olila started the season with a comfortable 2-0 win against She Makerere.
Sheila Gallendo and Sharon Achieng scored a goal apiece to help the Soroti based side to collect maximum points.
Muteesa I Royal University moved top of the table in Victoria group after winning 2-0 against Ajax Queens in the game played at IUIU Kabojja Campus.Favour Nambatya and Immaculate Torach scored for the University side who moved to six points.
The aforementioned duo also scored in their 3-1 win against Dynamic Jjeza on match day one.
New comers Dynamic Jjeza registered their first pont in the elite league after holding She Corporate to a goalless draw in the game played at MUBS, Nakawa.
