The domestic football governing body, Fufa, has released a detailed programme for the Uganda Cubs ahead of the 2019 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The finals will kick off on Sunday 14th April and run for two weeks up to Sunday 28th. Uganda is pooled in group A with Angola, Nigeria and hosts, Tanzania.
Fufa CEO Edgar Watson Ssuubi revealed that the team will conduct two training camps; one at the Technical centre and another one in South Africa.
“After finishing the trial matches in Turkey, the team will enter another residential camp at the Fufa Technical Centre on Sunday. They will then travel to South Africa to do a ten-day external camp,” Watson told media.
In South Africa, the Uganda Cubs are expected to play some build up matches with some junior sides in the country.
They will then fly to host city of the finals, Dar Es Salaam on 11th to undertake the mandatory Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test to confirm their age.
The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil as the CAF representatives.
