FUFA DRUM 2018
Buganda 1-3 Lango
Bishops SS, Mukono
Buganda province were one of the teams tipped to win the inaugural FUFA DRUM tournament before the tournament got underway.
However, the results garnered in the opening four games put their credentials in doubts after failing to live up to the billing.
Under coach Alex Isabirye, Buganda lost their second game in group C succumbing to a 3-1 loss at home against Lango on Saturday.
In the game played at Bishop SS Mukono, Lango despite conceding first staged a comeback to eventually win the game 3-1 and register their first win.
A brace from former Onduparaka FC striker currently at Amuka Bright Stars in the FUFA Big League, Dickens Okwir and another goal from substitute Petit Wanok ensured the visitors picked maximum points.
Buganda got their consolation through Soana’s Allan Kayiwa who also scored in the reverse fixture in Lira last week.
The result leaves Buganda bottom of group B on four points same as Kigezi who lost 1-0 to Acholi at Kasese Municipal Stadium.
Acholi lead on ten points, followed by Kigezi, Lango and Buganda in that order all on four points. There are to rounds left to end the group stage phase.
The top two teams in each of the four groups will advance to the quarterfinals with the final expected to be played in October in Kasese.
