FUFA Confirms Venue for Big League Promotional Playoffs

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the venue for the forthcoming Big League promotional playoffs.

FUFA first vice president Justus Mugisha confirmed FUFA Technical Center, Njeru as the venue that will host the play-offs.

The announcement was made during the 7th Annual General Assembly of the FUFA Super League Limited (FSLL) held at Ridar Hotel in Kampala on Saturday.

Four clubs in Kitara, Kiboga Young, Kataka and Ndejje University will vie for the remaining slot of advancing to the top flight league next season.

Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) achieved automatical promotion to the UPL whilst the third club will be determined after the play offs.

Kataka will face Kitara while Kiboga Young will lock horns with Ndejje University in the semi-final ties and the respective winners will meet in the finals on a date yet to be determined.

Mugisha also noted that the players’ licenses from the 2019/2020 season will be used even though some players have joined other clubs.

In the same meeting, FUFA has also extended the kick off date for the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League by a month from its initial kick-off date of 17th October, 2020.

The meeting was attended by all the other 15 Uganda Premier League clubs representatives alongside the National Council of Sports deputy secretary general (in charge of administration) Titus Kayigwa and the FUFA Competitions director Aisha Nalule among others.
