Frustrated Kabaziguruka Vows Not to Return to Army Court

Jailed Nakawa Municipality MP Hon Michael Kabaziguruka spoke angrily at the General Court Martial on Monday after his Treachery case where he is charged alongside 24 others was not heard, stuff even though it was among those fixed for today.

Kabaziguruka’s was incensed following an adjournment granted by the Court Chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti after holding a few hearing cases that run almost 8 hours nonstop.

At around 3pm the Chairman decided to push cases that were for today to tomorrow Tuesday 18th October, saying that court members were exhausted.

Kabaziguruka was unhappy with the adjournment, saying that he already didn’t want to come to court because he was felling unwell.

It was at this point that the legislator advised the Military Police officers not to bother picking him tomorrow for court because he is not ready to waste more of his time coming.

“I am not coming back to this court. It’s now upon the court to do whatever they feel like; they can proceed with the hearings on this matter up to when they will give their judgement but am not ready to come back here.”

The Court Martial Registrar Maj. John Bizimana tried to convince him to attend court tomorrow but Kabaziguruka maintained his stand.

Hon Kabaziguruka and other civilian suspects were remanded back to Kigo Prisons whereas the UPDF officers to Makindye military barracks
