The Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola has Saturday evening dropped SSP Emilian Kayima as police spokesman and replaced him with Commissioner of Police, Fred Enanga.
According to police sources, Kayima has been deployed in the political commissariat directorate at the police headquarters.
CP Enanga, who has bounced back for the second time, will be deputised by ACP Polly Namaye who also served in the same capacity during former IGP Kale Kayihura’s tenure.
In the shake-up, Ochola has appointed SP Patrick Onyango as Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman deputised by Luke Owoyesigire.
SSP Emilian Kayima has served as police spokesman since his appointment in November 2017 when he replaced AIGP Asan Kasingye.
The reason behind the changes remain unclear.
But Ochola has in recent months shuffled top police officials to streamline their operations.
