Other ICT agencies participating at the review include Posta Uganda, Uganda Broadcasting Cooperation, Uganda Communication Commission, Uganda Media Center and Vision Group.
The two days review running from October 24th to 25th 2019 is under the theme; “Strategize and Tap into the 4th Industrial Revolution for Sustainable National Development.
The MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wim Van Halleputte said at the event that there should be emphasis on collaboration with other players in the industry.
Interestingly, Mr. Wim faced a question from a participant who asked if the telecom players in Uganda are also going to scrap the expiry validity of data bundles like it has happened in Ghana and recently Kenya. Wim promised to look into the new development.
A Kenyan ICT practitioner and lawyer has gone to court challenging the legality of telecoms’ action of invalidating the unconsumed data bundles after their expiry.
A day after the suit was in court, Safaricom Kenya scrapped the data bundles expiry.
