Four people have on Thursday morning perished and three others suffered injuries following a nasty accident at Bukinda along the Kabale-Mbarara Highway.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning at around 7:20am opposite St. Paul’s Secondary School Bukinda in Kakatunda Village, Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga district, 29 Kilometers away from Kabale town.
it was caused by a head on collision between a Toyota RAUM motor vehicle registration number UAU 460W that was heading to Kabale from Kampala and a Commuter Taxi registration number UBA 274U that was travelling to Mbarara from Kabale.
Elly Maate, the Police Spokesperson for Kigezi region says that four people died on spot and others who were in both vehicles were seriously injured.
Maate says that the injured are being rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital while the deceased are still lying at the scene.
He adds that the death toll is likely to increase since many were seriously injured.
Maate revealed that were investigating into the matter.
By the time of filling the story, police vehicle and an ambulance that belongs to the Rukiga county member of parliament, Hebert Kabafunzaki were rushing the causalities to the hospital. All the causalities and the deceased are yet to be identified.
