Four Kaweesi Murder Suspects Granted Bail

Nakawa grade one magistrate Noah Sajjabi has granted bail to four more people accused of murdering former police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

These were released on a Shs. 50million non-cash bail after presenting in court two sureties each. The sureties were also placed on a Shs 100million non cash bond.

The four are Swalleh Ddamulira, Sauda Ayub, Sinani Hibwaji and Asuman Mugoya.

These were granted bail on grounds that they had been remanded beyond the legally recommended six months without being committed to High court for trial

Two others Abdullah Kala and Ali Mugoya however, were not been granted bail for failure to present sureties.

On November 7th, this court released the first seven suspects in this murder case on bail. Four of these however, were rearrested within minutes after released and detained at Nalufenya Police station.

Two of the four, Abdul Majidu Ojegere and Ibrahim Kisa appeared in court today; while the other two Ahmed Senfuka and Umar Maganda were absent although court had ordered yesterday for all four to be brought in court today.

Court ordered prosecution to have the suspects presented in court before 31st November 2017
