Red bull’s driver Daniel Ricciardo managed to come from sixth to successfully win the Chinese Grand Prix.
Valteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) came second and third in that order to seal the podium places.
After the victory, he said that he doesn’t seem to win boring races as they’re all pretty fun.
He added that: “That was unexpected. 24 hours ago and I thought we’d maybe be starting at the back of the grid. Thanks to the boys yesterday. I thanked them after qualifying but today is the real reward for that work.”
Sebastian Vettel who came into the race with a 17 point lead over Hamilton in the World Drivers’ Championship, had his lead cut to nine points.
This came after he spun following contact with Max Verstappen late in the race to finish eighth overall.
The race was held at the Shanghai International Circuit whose track is 5.451 km.
After a two-week break, next on the calendar is the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
