Former Bushenyi District Boss Denies Involvement in Family Name Fight

Willis Bashasha, the former Bushenyi district chairperson has distanced himself from the letter which made rounds on social media ordering Kansiime Eunice the contestant for Bushenyi Woman MP to relinquish the name ‘Kansiime’ which belongs to their brother (her husband) because the family was “not interested in politics.2

This letter was said to have been authored by Bashasha on behalf of other family members.

Bashasha’s lawyers of Nambale and Nerima and Company Advocates however, have described the letter as forged and that their client has no knowledge about its contents.

“Accordingly, people of Bushenyi and the general public are advised to disregard and treat it with the contempt it deserves.”

The lawyers also revealed that a formal complaint has been lodged with Police to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators of this cyber harassment.

In the fake letter, Bashaasha purportedly stressed that any family member standing for any Political office was most likely to divide the family yet they have worked tirelessly to unite.

“This is done as a proper communication to officially inform you that we as a family are not in any way in support of you. Do not mix us in your confusion,” reads part of the letter.
