Kenya’s Women National Football team the Harambee Starlets are already in the country, the team arrived at Entebbe Airport earlier on Friday ahead of their crucial tie with Uganda Crested Cranes.
However, five of their players who were involved in the first leg, are not on the contingent.
Esse Akida, Esther Nandika, Monica Karambu, Vivian Nasaka Makokha and Wyncate Kaari are the players who were dropped.
Sources from Kenya have it that foward Akida chose not to travel with the team to fully concentrate on her education – She has a paper (exam) at the Kenya Methodist University.
Kenya won the first leg 1-0 in Machakos and the side will look to build on that good result to upset the hosts in a Sunday game at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
Winner over two legs will face off with Equatorial Guinea in the next qualification round to book a slot in the upcoming 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana later this year.
