Fik Fameica Sued For Stealing Song

Singer Fik Fameica real name Shafi Walukagga has been accused of song theft by Tanzanian rapper Chin Bees.

As a result, the ‘Tonsukuma’ rapper has been served with a Cease And Desist Cum Intention To Sue letter by lawyers representing Chid Bees alias Mussa Ramadhani who is popular for his hit song ‘Pepeta’.

According to the letter dated November 23 and issued by KTA Advocates, it has come to their notice that Fik Fameica released a song titled ‘Mafia’ in 2018 that bears the same musical composition and arrangement as their client’s ‘Pepeta”.

Chin Bees has accused Fik Fameica of plagiarism

The letter is addressed to the rapper and his manager Karma Ivan.

The letter adds that the two songs ‘Mafia’ and ‘Pepeta’ are entirely alike phonetically and their client takes issue with Fameica’s unlawful copying and unauthorized use of the song.

Consequently, Fik Fameica has been ordered to cease and desist from further promotion and performance of the song with immediate effect.

Additionally, he has to take down all publications of the song from his social media and online platforms plus submit an inventory of all the proceeds he has so far accumulated from the song.
