The Forum for Democratic Change has urged religious leaders in the country to cite out bad governance and preach against it in this festive season.
The FDC Deputy Secretary General Harold Kaija said that it’s crucial for religious leaders to preach against bad governance, which he said is one the ways the current government leaders will listen and change.
“Even if most religious leaders are being chauffeured in cars donated to them by President Museveni, they should still raise to the occasion to preach against bad governance and show Ugandans the way out of it” he said.
Kaija cited examples of religious leaders, the clergy should emulate such as Martin Luther King, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda among others.
While addressing Journalists at the weekly party press conference at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi on Monday, Kaija warned that Christmas is coming at a critical time when the economy is not doing well and Ugandans are getting poorer.
“All those politicians who are causing suffering of Ugandans will be moving around with bags full of money during Christmas yet Ugandans are badly off with too much tax burden”
