After thrilling action on match day one of the 2018/19 FUFA Big League season, action resumes on Thursday with eight games on card.
Key among those will be Jinja Municipal Council(JMC) Hippos hosting Wakiso Giants at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.
Whereas JMC Hippos won their first game 1-0 against Bukedea Town Coincil, Wakiso Giants could only afford a 2-2 draw away to Amuka Bright Stars FC.
The Purple Sharks envisaged as one of the top contenders for promotion this season will therefore come into Thursday’s game seeking for their first win.
Head coach, Ibrahim Kirya is aware that their opponents won on match day one and believes they will not be a push over.
” They(JMC Hippos) will not be an easy team. They won their first game and will come with that confidence but my team is prepared and we go into this game looking for maximum points.” He said.
Patrick Crespo Asiku the captain of JMC Hippos and scorer of their goal against Bukedea believes it will be a tough contest.
“They have a good team with experienced players but I believe we have a good team as well with young players that are ambitious. So we go into this game hoping for a positive result although I think it will be a tough contest.”
In the group (Elgon), leaders Kataka FC who picked four points on their West Nile trip(drew 0-0 against Doves All Stars and beat Nebbi Central 1-0) host Bukedia TC at CRO grounds in Mbale.
UPDF FC return to action after a goalless draw against Entebbe FC. They have made the trip to Arua to play Doves All Stars. Entebbe FC host new comers Light SS.
In Rwenzori group, the Bunyoro derby between Dove FC and Kitara FC will be the key fixture.
Both teams drew in their opening games and will be hoping to get their first win against their bitter rivals.
Dove FC drew 1-1 away to Kabale Sharp while Kitara FC were held at home by Proline FC.
Proline FC themselves will host wounded Ntinda United who were obliterated 3-0 in the first game by Kireka United.
Kireka host Kabale Sharp while Bumate from Bundibugyo will be at home against Kiboga Young.
